The video performance was created as part of a group exhibition in the cafeteria of the Offenbach University of Art and Design. The video was shown on a 43-inch monitor while the cafeteria was in operation.

A cafeteria is always a place of social interaction. Eating together is considered sociable, natural, and usually carefree in our society. But what happens when eating becomes a problem — when it becomes impossible in company?

“Dear Anna” deals with the topic of eating disorders, which particularly affect young women. In the video, I reenact situations and combine them with original documents — texts and drawings — that contribute to contextualization and come from my own family archives. The narrative framework of the video is formed by the protagonist‘s correspondence with Anna — her anorexia.
