„Das Streichquartett“ was conceived as a performative intervention of the opening event of this years open studio exhibition (Hochschule für Gestaltung, Offenbach): instead of a traditional concert, the performers apply butter to oversized loaves of bread using oversized knives—an exaggerated gesture that playfully references the act of playing string instruments. The stylized performance draws on the visual vocabulary of silent film acting and pantomime, with aesthetic elements borrowed from vaudeville, variety theatre, and cabaret sketches.

The work deliberately subverts expectations and serves as a sharp commentary on the often overly formalized conventions within the art world. The moment of confusion and spontaneity is a key aspect of the work.
